The stupid egg game wich I flippin hated because it was stupid.
On thursday Rich decided that we were going to play a game. The game was that in groups we would have to build a machine that would hold an egg so that when it was dropped from six feet it didn't break. "yey" I thought excitedly "I get to use my skills in science to win a game." Then came the bad news. We had to create th rules for the game, between us we had to decide how we would judge who the winner was "but Luke taht sounds easy, surely it is the person who's egg doesn't break" I hear you say. Apparently not. Two hours later I found that the group wanted to judge the winner on creativity and team work as well as the ending state of the egg. byt the time I was allowed to make the machine and drop the egg I was very bored and really didn't want to play any more. To make things worse my egg broke and so our team lost. How infinately depressing (I think I'm gonna sue some of my school teachers. So what did I learn form this experiance?
1. Always consider the weight of the egg saving machine because if it is wrong it will fall on it's side.
2. When meeting to decide something don't have too many people because otherwise it takes flippin ages and every one gets very stressed.
3. Burocracy ruins everything.
4. Don't ever trust a lecturer they are actually evil

Learning points 1-3 have a nice validity to them and express some of your frustrations. Point 4 well... sometimes that is what us teachers in youth work, have to do to get a point across. The exercise is about understanding how you approach a task and how you assimilate the needs/wants of other parties engaged in the task, including those who set it. You seem to have done this and therfore have no need to reproach yourself. Just look for the new things to learn in each of the things that you are challenged with.
i think luke should blog some more!!!
How about we play a game?!
